Equal Access Commitment

Clement Law Firm provides quality legal representation to everyone regardless of age, race, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, income, physical ability, mental health status, religious faith or creed. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to legal justice.

Pro Bono Work

We salute all the agencies and lawyers in the area contributing to legal justice for everyone. Below are the organizations we currently support with volunteer (pro bono) legal services.

  • Juvenile Advocacy

I serve as an attorney for Guardian ad Litem in Buncombe County. The Guardian ad Litem program  advocates for abused or neglected children that are involved in court cases. The goal of the program is to provide a voice for children and find the quickest route to a safe, permanent home. I also serve on the operational team for SOAR Court, also known as Family Treatment Court. SOAR Court provides support and structure for parents with substance abuse problems that have children in the DSS system.

  • Alternative Dispute Resolution

I serve as a Community Mediator for The Mediation Center in Asheville. My experience as a litigator taught me the importance of exploring alternative ways to settle disagreements before litigation. The nature and expense of litigation often escalates conflict. Mediation is another way of resolving disputes. The mediation process can provide a safe and neutral environment for opposing parties to work out a wide variety of conflicts.

  • Poverty Advocacy
I volunteer with Pisgah Legal Services and Legal Aid of North Carolina by providing pro bono legal services to low-income citizens. A majority of my pro bono work with these organizations has involved Social Security disability or Medicaid issues. However I also provide services for cases involving probate law, landlord/tenant issues, and housing issues.

  • Arts Advocacy
I serve as a member of Board of Directors of Terpsicorps Theatre of Dance, Inc. This charitable organization promotes the appreciation of dance as an art form by organizing and presenting public performances. Their purpose is to make world class dance and dance instruction available to all.
